Just plowed through 13 amazing episodes of AMC’s hit show, Mad Men. Tonight the second season will launch. I’ll be headed over to Ravishing Rob’s apartment to partake in tonight’s viewing.
Season 1 finale was a nice touch leaving good ole’ Don Draper home alone for Thanksgiving after giving the tear-jerker carousel presentation for Kodak. Ironic, for a man to have all the success in his career and to let his loved ones slowly slip between his fingers. Season 2 should reveal more about Dick Donald’s grey past and fill up a few holes.
Junior copywriter, Peggy Olsen, sure has her hands and belly full. Drama will ensue and the first episode should be a good one. Red headed temptress, Joan Holloway, will probably be colliding with Peggy in some interesting ways in the season opener. Keep your eyes peeled.
It doesn’t matter how many heart attacks you have Mr. Sterling, the writers would never make him turn over a new leaf. He’d become very dull if he stopped being an alcoholic womanizer.
Oh! Salvatore, I love seeing him tortured by the MANdingo (porkswords battle). Considering homosexuality was a big no-no in the 60s, it will be interesting to see how much will go on in ole’ dapper Salvatore’s closet. He so wants the lol-loli-lolipop.
Last, but not least the shag master (fine only once), Harry Crane, after shacking up with Pete’s body karate secretary, was kicked out by his wife. Season 2 should be filled with a lot of tightie whitie.
The matter of setting an end date for AMC’s critical darling “Mad Men,” prompted by a quote by creator Matt Weiner at TCA about his “five-year plan” for “the life of the series,” seemed clear when the story was published yesterday afternoon. From a lengthy exchange discussing Weiner’s quote with AMC: “So to be clear, [Matthew Weiner] plans 5 seasons, covering 10 years, with jumps between each season.” AMC: “Yes!” From Source
