This is an amazing storytelling piece done by Fx and Mat (with Paris-based production company Mr. Hyde) for the Royal Bank of Canada and agency BBDO Toronto.

Mr Longlegs, boy and girl

The character design is excellent. The father, Mr. Long Legs has a lot of character in his long limbs as he strides across many exciting destinations with his kids attached yoda-style on his back. It is such a magical and powerful image of the father carrying his kids all over the world. It makes you wonder though what happen to mother. Is she working in order to pay for his pant’s tailoring bill? Or worse, she is jetsetting with some French poet she met at the grocery store?

The environment and color scheme is like a warm Summer’s radiating on your face. The color palette suites it very well and establishes the brand as definitely family friendly which is always a plus. One of my favorite scenes is when the kids slide down Mr. Longlegs like a fireman down the fire pole. It really captures the magic of traveling for kids.

Long Legs sketch

This is a serious jem and I love it. I was sad when the spot ended. It leaves a nice cuddly warm feeling with you all day long. See all the love FX and Mat put in on there blog.
