A few months ago I came across this neat little PDF put together by our friends at Puma. It goes over gears, hub, chainrings, track stands, why brakes suck, etc. Definitely, a nice read if you got the time and are very interested in getting into a fixed gear.

Mad update on my flickr page from this past weekend’s Oregon Manifest.

OREGON MANIFEST is the collective vision of Portland, Oregon’s cycling and creative communities, who’ve come together to dream up and develop the most original, spirited and spectacle-laden boutique bike show in the nation.

Garret the guy riding in front of Lance is probably the fastest on any fixed gear. His bike is cherry. I am digging that super deep front wheel.

The good ole’ boys over at Mash SF flew down to Austin, TX to visit Mr. Armstrong. They got some great footage of the icon rolling in their pack. My favorite spot is when Lance kicks into a itty-bitty skid. Congrats guys for making an awesome clip. See more of the awesomeness that is Mash SF here.

Now’s that some cheesy ass copy – no matter what district you’re in. Anyways, that belt drive looks very interesting. Hopefully as more bike manufacturers catch on, that technology will become more affordable. The colorway is pretty nice and it looks like it’s rolling on some creamsicle orange deep V’s. That brown leather looks hot over all that orange and grey. Hopefully, I can catch one of these on the road in November.

What a labor of love! Two men one fixed cog and a whole lot of grease will get you a sweet ride. Special thanks to Mickey Slater again! Without his expertise in track bikes my daily commuter would not be so street nice. After one bottle of wine, a whole bag of Cheetos, one episode of Project Runway, a ton of ebay haggling and two evenings my fixed gear is ready to go. Still thinking of a name, any suggestions?

Better have a helmet on, because Slater and I will be working on a new bike site that will blow your mind. Still in it’s infant stages, we’re going to make ish happen. I’ll keep all your bike aficionados updated as we progress.
